Domaine Romy, Clos de la Chapelle Bourgogne Blanc 2016, Beaujolais, France
Tasting Note: Behold the rare white Beaujolais (or Beaujolais Blanc, i.e., chardonnay) from Burgundy.
Pale-intensity lemon in color, this wine has a medium-plus-intensity, aromatic nose of green apple, pear, blossom and melon.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied white Beaujolais is medium-plus in acidity with tart, bright, green-fruit flavors completing with a lime-citrus-infused, medium-plus finish.
Bottle Note: The Romy estate is a property of 74 acres in the area called “Les Pierres Dorées” in the southern part of the Burgundy region. Dominique Romy and his son Nicolas are 10th generation vine growers and experienced wine makers. They cultivate their vines of chardonnay in a natural manner, the objective being to preserve the biological balance of the soil. This fresh Burgundy “Chardonnay” can be served with fish, seafood, a chicken salad or by its own.
