Tasting Note: Lots of vibrant black fruit in this malbec.

On the attack acidity is felt first on the back of your tongue and the taste subsides to fruit on the tip of your tongue in an unusual back-of-the-mouth to front-of-the-mouth flavor flow. Elegant, grapey, black fruit tastes rule mid-palate Lovely chalkiness. The legs on the wine aren’t as strong as many other malbecs.

The deep red and purple color of the wine makes me curious about what other grapes were used as blending grapes to round out the final product. I’ve seen this producer at several wine shops and would be curious to try other offerings up the line given its seeming ubiquity in many Northeast stores.

Bottle Note: Los Cardos means “The Thistles” in Spanish. Their presence indicates an unmistakable sign of good terroir. Our Malbec is spicy and rich with juicy, fresh black fruit and a long jammy finish. Enjoy alone or pair with red meat, empanadas or pasta. Our vineyards are managed using sustainable agricultural practices. Grown on our estate.
