Dulcinea Santos Ferreira, Sidónio de Sousa Espumante Brut Nature Special Cuvée, Bairrada, Portugal
Tasting Note: A good, sparkling wine from Portugal that highlights the drier side of the bubbly spectrum.
Medium-intensity lemon in color with small tight bubbles, this wine has a medium-intensity nose of green apple, pear and blossom with hints of brioche.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied sparkling wine has medium-intensity flavors suggested on the nose with some lemon-citrus-peel on the medium finish.
The wine has medium plus acidity that is in balance with the fruit flavors.
Bottle Note: Bical 40%, Arinto 35%, Maria-Gomes 25%. Obtained without pressing the regional grapes, created in clay-limestone soils. It’s a fresh, fruity sparkling wine with a bubble that melts in the mouth and a fine acidity that gives its freshness. Accompanies fish dishes, seafood and Italian cuisine and white meats.
