Element Winery, Pinot Noir 2010, Finger Lakes, New York
Tasting Note: A rustic pinot noir with a complex midpalate, flavor concentration and a wild streak.
Medium-intensity ruby-to-garnet in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of raspberry, red plum, kirsch, strawberry and cinnamon baking spice.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied pinot noir is smooth, steely and medium in acidity and ripe, medium tannin that is slightly grippy on the medium-plus finish.
Bottle Note: Element Winery was founded to explore cool climate terroirs, to produce wines which express their origins without preconceived notions. Delicate wines, balanced with a focus on mineral and floral aromas and higher acids using a minimalist approach that allows the grapes to speak for themselves. Dedicated to producing small quantities of wines we love. Christopher P. Bates and Robert W. Bates. 219 cases produced.
