Ferraton Père & Fils Côtes Du Rhône Samorëns Blanc 2016 – A Chardonnay Alternative

Côtes Du Rhône , Wine Casual

Ferraton Père & Fils, Côtes Du Rhône Samorëns Blanc 2016, Rhone, France

Tasting Note: White Côtes du Rhônes are where those of you who eschew chardonnay and sauvignon blanc can seek shelter as these wines tend to have body, personality and substance.

They are categorically a red-wine drinker’s white wine.

Pale-intensity lemon in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of peach stone fruit, pear, green apple, blossom and lemon-rind shavings.

On the palate the dry, full-bodied white Rhône blend (35% Rousanne, 30% Viognier, 25% Grenache Blanc, 5% Clairette, 5% Marsanne) is creamy in texture with ripe pear and peach stone fruit showing medium-plus intensity fruit flavors through to a similarly medium-plus finish infused with lemon citrus and chalk.

This wine shows the strength of the white Côtes du Rhône style in a straightforward form that is enjoyable.

Bottle Note: In the beginning, there was a region: The Rhône Valley. In 1946, there was a man with passion: Jean Ferraton. Today, our team is committed to ensuring the continuation of the knowledge. With the greatest respect for the “terroir” and the vine.
