Fleur du Cap, Essence du Gap Chenin Blanc 2017, Western Cape, South Africa
Tasting Note: A bright, zippy, South African chenin blanc with oak that should be your new summer default white wine.
Pale-intensity lemon in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of honeysuckle, quince, pear, green apple and clove baking spice with hints of cinnamon.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied chenin blanc delivers medium-intensity flavors suggested on the nose along with lemon citrus and notes of lime leaf.
The wine is medium-plus in acidity with midpalate complexity and varietal typicity.
This wine sings.

Bottle Note: The Western Cape’s diverse palette of wine growing regions allow Fleur du Cap the perfect canvas to make wines that express the essence of a varietal. A masterful selection of fruit combined with the creativity of our winemakers result in wines that express our vision, ‘freedom of expression.’ Medium bodied with a touch of oak to dance with the lovely aromas of tropical fruit. Partners well with seafood, white meat dishes and is great with oriental dishes.
