Foley Estates, Pinot Noir 2012, Santa Rita Hills, California
Tasting Note: A pleasant, soft, riper-styled pinot noir.
Ruby in color this wine has an aromatic and herbaceous nose of ripe to overripe red and black fruit including strawberry, blackberry and black cherry along with some meaty, vanilla and stewed-fruit aromas.
On the palate the medium-plus bodied wine is medium in acidity with soft, medium tannin and a slightly chalky, medium finish.
The cooked-fruit character suggested on the nose delivers on the palate.
Bottle Note: For over three-thousand years man has endeavored to extract greatness from the grape. We’re simply carrying on the tradition.
