Forge Cellars, Riesling 2013, Finger Lakes, New York
Tasting Note: A Finger Lakes riesling with Mosel-reminiscent aromatics and flavor.
Medium-intensity lemon in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of green apple, petrol, bosc pear, lemon-and-lime citrus zest, pineapple and gooseberry.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied riesling has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium-plus acidity and completing with a citrus-zest-infused, medium-plus finish.
There are some tart, green-fruit notes that add to the complexity of the wine towards the end of the taste likely resulting from the wine’s indigenous-yeast fermentation.
Fine riesling.
