Francois Blanchard, Boisson Vivante 2017, Le Grand Clére Cabernet Franc, Vin De France, France
Tasting Note: Who knew sparkling cabernet franc could be so good?
Deep-intensity purple in color and pétillant, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of black plum, blackberry, raspberry, red currant, hay, red cherry and violet blossom.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied sparkling cabernet franc has tart, medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium-plus acidity and slightly-grippy, medium tannin.
Even though the wine has some almost-ripened red-fruit elements that are austere, the wine ultimately comes together as a whole.
Now you don’t have to choose between a red wine and something refreshing to enjoy on the porch during summer.
