Gerald Vallée Domaine de La Cotelleraie, Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil 2017, Loire, France
Tasting Note: A Bourgueil with attractive concentration and a midpalate that is Chinon reminiscent.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of black plum, pencil shavings, forest floor, black tea, raspberry and dried violet blossom with hints of young cedar.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied cabernet franc has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and ripe, medium tannin.
There are some notes of midpalate complexity coupled with rusticity around the edges.
