Groot Constantia, Grand Constance 2015, Constantia, South Africa
Tasting Note: A muscat dessert wine with luscious fruit that shows why Constantia can’t be written off for quality dessert wine production, especially as one of the oldest wine-producing areas in the new world.
Medium-intensity amber in color this wine has an aromatic nose of lychee, rose blossom, dried apricot, green raisin, peach stone fruit, dried-green-apple slice and just-ripened honeydew melon.
On the palate the wine is sweet with fruit flavors suggested on the nose along with fragrant rose-bud flavors uniting the entire length of the taste.
The wine is high in acidity and balanced between the fruit and tertiary aging effects.
An impressive producer of tropical-fruit-flavored dessert wines.
Bottle Note: Natural sweet wine muscat.
