Guia Real, Rioja Reserva 2015, Spain
Tasting Note: A Reserva Rioja that shows why Spain’s aged wine is worth the wait.
Medium-intensity ruby in color with some garnet around the edges, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of black currant, blackberry, black plum, red cherry, strawberry and rosehip with a hint of vanilla baking spice.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied Reserva Rioja has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and ripe, medium-plus tannin ultimately completing with a medium finish.
The wine is layered and relatively light for a Rioja so it makes a good wine for sipping as well as enjoying with food.
