Gutierrez, Colosia Oloroso Sherry, Andalusia, Spain, Wine Casual

Gutierrez, Colosia Oloroso Sherry, Andalusia, Spain

Tasting Note: A good-value, oloroso sherry with medium-intensity rancio flavors that pair well with the start or end of a meal.

Medium-intensity brown in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of caramel, butterscotch, walnut and almond, dried apple, nutmeg and brioche.

On the palate the dry, full-bodied oloroso sherry delivers medium-plus intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity.

The fortified wine has a creamy mouthfeel and midpalate complexity.

Bottle Note: Built in 1838, the location Gutierrez Colosia – along the banks of the Guadalete River when entering the Atlantic, provides the perfect microclimate for Sherry (which is aged in American oak barrels in direct contact with the air). The family Gutierrez has a long heritage of “nursing” Sherry for generations. 100% Palomino grape. Dry with a mahogany color. A savory persistent flavor with a hint of the fine oak offering an elegant finish. Aged under the action of gentle oxidation in the solera and criadera system.
