Hentley Farm Wines, Villain & Vixen Grenache 2018, Barossa Valley, Australia
Tasting Note: A grenache with friendly, red-fruit flavors that is one of relaxing those bottles you could easily finish before you even realize it.
Medium-intensity purple-to-ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of raspberry puree, blackberry, red cherry, strawberry and blossom.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied grenache has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose with a concentrated red-fruit midpalate that is reminiscent of cherry Kool-Aid made without enough water added.
The wine is medium in acidity with bright, juicy, red-fruit flavors and medium tannin ultimately completing with a medium-plus, red-fruit-infused finish.
Bottle Note: Old school winemaking has it that big is best, not so we say, as villains against convention we favor vixen like elegance with soft silky tannins, bright fruit, great balance and complex flavors.
