Herdade da Malhadinha Nova, Antão Vaz da Peceguina 2016, Albernôa, Portugal
Tasting Note: A white blend from Portugal that has creaminess, florality and some dried, green fruit.
Medium-to-deep intensity gold in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of bruised golden apple, caramel, apple blossom, honeysuckle, pear compote and gooseberry.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied wine delivers medium-intensity, summer-ripened-green fruit flavors supported by medium-minus acidity and completing with a medium finish.
The white blend has a creamy texture with hints of golden raisin and a relatively straightforward taste profile.
A white wine that would make the perfect cool-weather sipper.
Bottle Note: 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay 2011. The grapes for this Cap Classique, a blend of pinot noir and chardonnay, were pressed together and the refractional recovery from whole bunches ensured the finest quality juice. This was followed by secondary fermentation in the bottle, with the wine spending sufficient time on the lees. The result is a wine with a charming pink hue, complex fruit flavors and a fine creamy mousse.
