Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard, Cabernet Franc 2013, Seneca Lake, Finger Lakes, New York
Tasting Note: A lovely cabernet franc that demonstrates the ageability-potential of Finger Lakes cabernet franc.
Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of red plum, pencil shavings, graphite, forest floor, hay and violet with hints of raspberry.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied cabernet franc delivers flavors suggested on the nose along with medium-plus flavor intensity and concentration.
There is mid-palate complexity and balance between the fruit and smooth, ripe, medium tannin structure.

Bottle Note: Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard combines Old World tradition with New World innovation, hand-crafting elegant, well-balanced wines. Our ecologically conscious viticulture highlights the distinct qualities of premier vineyard sites. Cool Finger Lakes autumns allow Cabernet Franc to ripen slowly, yielding a seductive, harmonious varietal expression of ripe plum and berry flavors. The palate is full and round with firm tannins and a soft, elegant finish.
