Hidden Creek Wines, Verdelho 2019, Granite Belt, Queensland, Australia
Tasting Note: A Verdelho that presents the best of what the Granite Belt region can produce in a complex style that marries fruit with the lightest touch of oak.
Medium-intensity lemon in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of green apple, quince, apple blossom and vanilla baking spice.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied Verdelho has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium-plus acidity with a tart streak of minerality running througout the length of your palate.
Bottle Note: At almost 1,000 meters elevation and established in 1989, Hidden Creek Vineyard, winery, cellar door and café is a high altitude wine estate located in Queensland’s acclaimed Granite Belt wine region. This wine has been handmade on the Estate with passion and precision. It is a real palate pleaser. Partial barrel fermentation adds texture to a palate loaded with succulent tropical fruits and crisp acidity which carries the fruit to a long and clean finish. Thank you for choosing this synergy of dialogue between grape and winemaker and for discovering the art of wine. Winemaker, Andy Williams.
