Hilanda, Monastrell 2014, Jumilla, Spain
Tasting Note: A sturdy red with black fruit and cedar notes that would pair well with grilled meats, especially if you’re a fan of red zinfandel.
Deep-intensity purple-to-ruby in color this wine has an aromatic nose of black plum, charred wood, raspberry and clove and vanilla baking spice.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied monastrell has flavors suggested on the nose along with cedar and kirsch.
There is mid-palate complexity as the charred wood and black fruit flavors complement each other.
