Hogue Riesling 2017 – Would Work Well as an Aperitif

Hogue, Riesling 2017, Columbia Valley, Washington, Wine Casual

Hogue, Riesling 2017, Columbia Valley, Washington

Tasting Note: A good quality riesling from Columbia Valley.

Pale-intensity lemon in color with some pétillant bubbles, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of green pear, quince, petrol, granny-smith apple, blossom and lemon citrus.

On the palate the medium-sweet, medium-bodied riesling has medium-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and completing with a medium finish.

There are some notes of midpalate complexity.

Would work well as an aperitif paired with cured meat and cheeses.

Bottle Note: My brother Mike and I opened our doors to The Hogue Cellars in 1982, with a commitment to source only the finest fruit from the Columbia Valley’s best vineyards. Open a bottle and discover why we’ve become one of Washington State’s most respected wineries. Our riesling has a touch of sweetness and a balanced medley of ripe apricot, tangerine, and peach flavors. Enjoy this refreshingly versatile wine on its own or paired with spring rolls, pork stir fry, seafood or fish. -Gary Hogue, co-founder.
