Holden Manz, Barrel Fermented Avant Garde Collection Chardonnay 2017, Western Cape, South Africa
Tasting Note: Lemon in color this wine has a nose of vanilla and clove baking spice and green apple.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied chardonnay repeats vanilla-secondary notes suggested on the nose.
The wine doesn’t overindulge in oak and achieves balance between fruit and oak treatment.
Bottle Note: This wine has been whole bunch pressed, naturally fermented and matured in a combination of new and used French oak barrels creating a wine with fresh, crispy minerality whilst showcasing beautiful ripe citrus flavors. Enjoy with a freshly grilled fish, seafood or poultry or simply share with good friends on a warm South African afternoon.
