Honoro Vera, Monastrell 2015, Jumilla, Spain
Tasting Note: A monastrell (mourvedre) with, concentration and depth of flavor and some-mid-palate development due to age.
Deep-intensity purple in color with some garnet around the edges, this wine has an aromatic nose of blackberry, black plum, forest floor, black currant and wildflower.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied monastrell has velvety, medium-plus tannin with flavors suggested on the nose.
The wine is balanced even as it is high in alcohol as most monastrells from Jumilla tend to be.
Bottle Note: Produced with monastrell grapes from our bush vines planted on very poor limestone soils at 2,300 feet in elevation. Low yields due to these soils and extreme weather result in a beautiful wine with ripe and sweet tannins.
