Humberto Canale Estate, Malbec 2013, Rio Negro, Patagonia, Argentina
Tasting Note: Dark black in color with an aromatic nose of ripe blackberry and cherry, this wine hits your palate like a harmonious chord played in three delightful beats.
The first beat plays on the tip of your tongue with a touch of sweetness. The second beat plays toward the middle of your tongue with the full taste of black fruit.
The final beat pans out from the back center of your tongue towards the edges showing balanced acidity and medium tannin. This malbec is a complete experience with depth and beautiful thick legs that run slowly down the inside of your glass.
The quality/price ratio is tipped in your favor with this wine and would show especially well at dinner parties.
Bottle Note: The Canale Family vineyards are situated in Rio Negro Valley in Patagonia and are amongst the most southerly in the world. A dry growing season with hot days and cold night, helps to produce wonderfully ripe and generous fruit. The winery has recently been fully modernized. The wines are made from carefully selected grapes, where the yield has been kept extremely low to obtain maximum concentration of fruit. Barrel fermented.
