Jean-Claude DeBeaune, Special Selection Beaujolais-Villages 2019, France
Tasting Note: Beaujolais Villages typically promises to be better than basic Beaujolais, and this gamay delivers on that promise.
Medium-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of bramble, black plum, kirsch, strawberry, red cherry and bubble gum.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied Beaujolais Villages has medium-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and medium tannin.
There is some chalkiness along the midpalate that combines well with the red-fruit components.
Better than basic gamay.
