Jean-Jacques Girard, Savigny-Les-Beaune 2017, Burgundy, France
Tasting Note: The sort of white Burgundy you open and pair with many a dish and which offers some subtle spice notes on the finish.
Pale-intensity lemon in color, this wine has a medium-intensity nose of green apple, pear, gooseberry, blossom and lemon-citrus peel.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied white Burgundy has medium-intensity flavors suggested on the nose along with a faint suggestion of vanilla supported by medium acidity and completing with a medium-length finish.
The chardonnay has some midpalate complexity while revealing some depth of flavor.
Like a good dinner party guest, this wine engages in conversation with you without being boisterous.
