Jousselin & Fils Domaine Du Rin Du Bois, Touraine Gamay 2018, Loire, France
Tasting Note: A flavorsome Loire gamay with midpalate complexity and a lovely earthiness that is often associated with Chinon.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of red plum, red currant, raspberry, strawberry, red cherry and crushed-dried violet petal.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied gamay delivers medium-to-medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose along with notes of hay, young cedar, and forest floor.
The wine is medium in acidity with ripe, medium tannin that completes with a medium-plus finish.
I am a fan of gamay and this bottle shows there is a distinct Loire gamay style for which I am appreciative.
