Justin Monmousseau, Chinon 2014, Loire, France
Tasting Note: Enjoy the restrained vibrancy cabernet franc which captures the essence of Chinon.
Medium-to-deep intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of black plum, raspberry, damp forest floor, pencil shavings and violet.
On the palate, the dry, medium-plus bodied Chinon shows medium-intensity tart red and black fruit supported by cedar and high acidity on the mid-palate through to a raspberry-violet infused finish.
This cabernet franc has midpalate complexity and a well-balanced fruit and medium-plus grippy tannin profile.
Bottle Note: This grape gives a full-bodied wine, having perfect balance between the fruit and rich tannins. Chinon can be drunk young or left to mature in cool cellars if you wish to drink the wine at its full maturity. It fits with poultry, grilled meat and goat cheese. 100% Cabernet Franc.
