Lakewood Vineyards, Pinot Gris 2013, Gigliotti Vineyards, Finger Lakes, New York
Tasting Note: This pinot gris is no pushover; it’s deliciously substantial.
Gold-colored the wine has a nose of late-harvest pear, red apple, lemon citrus, mid-summer stone fruit and lychee.
On the palate this medium-plus bodied point gris shows depth, complexity and weight.
Green and tropical fruit flavors express themselves on the attack with medium-acidity balancing the fruit through to a tart finish.
The New York Finger Lake while known for its riesling may also be another locale in the U.S. that could become known for its pinot gris. Only time will tell.
Bottle Note: Bright aromas of grapefruit and pineapple merge with a vibrant, fruity palate, finishing with citrusy notes. A classic with shellfish! Family owned and operated for over 2 decades, Lakewood Vineyards is committed to producing Finger Lakes wines of highest quality.
