Leeu Passant, Dry Red Wine 2015, Western Cape, South Africa
Tasting Note: You can taste the cabernet franc in this red blend which tilts towards the old world but with a restrained, new world style.
Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic and perfumed nose of violet, blossom, black plum and raspberry.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied red blend has soft, ripe, medium-plus tannin.
There is mid-palate complexity and balance between the fruit and tannin structure.
Bottle Note: An adventure into Cape wine heritage by Chris & Andrea Mullineux and Analjit Singh. 36% cabernet sauvignon, 33% cabernet franc, 31% cinsault.
