Lelarge-Pugeot, Les Charmes de Vrigny Premier Cru Extra Brut, Champagne, France
Tasting Note: A sparkling wine for those who can’t hand champagne’s classic flavor intensity and are desirous of something somewhat more restrained.
Lemon in color, this wine has a nose of medium-intensity yeast underpinned by under-ripe green fruit.
On the palate the dry champagne is somewhat round in texture on the fore-palate eventually receding into notes of citrus.
Bottle Note: This wine expresses the Charms of a terroir, a predominance of meunier, environmentally friendly winegrowing and a consciousness of our wines and of humanity through our winemaking and a passionate family. Terroir: Vrigny (silts, sands and calcareous marls). Winegrowing: No herbicides or pesticides. Harvest: 2008 + Solera. Blend: 50% meunier, 30% pinot noir, 20% chardonnay.
