Lidio Carraro, Da’Divas Chardonnay 2013, Encruzilhada do Sul, Serra do Sudeste, Brazil
Tasting Note: Grown in granite soil, this chardonnay is not aromatic – a characteristic of the variety itself made stark given the tasting order of the evening.
The lemon-colored chardonnay has a chalky, tart finish with flavors reminiscent of Smarties candy.
Round in the mouth, but not due to oak as the producer doesn’t believe in oaking white wine, this white of medium-minus complexity is enjoyable and different from other chardonnays you’ve likely tried.
Bottle Note: Our Chardonnay is sourced from three distinct vineyard sites; each is harvested and vinified separately in order to maintain the diverse personalities of our estate’s various micro terriors. This 100% Chardonnay is unoaked preserving its varietal character. Elegant aromas of wild flowers with notes of tropical fruits. On the palate it is fresh and fruity with good acidity, minerality and mouth filling. 100% Chardonnay.
