Louis-Antoine Luyt, Familia Sergio Pérez Pipeño Coronel del Maule, Maule Valley, Chile
Tasting Note: Pais is one of the those neglected grapes that when done in a bright, fresh, and vibrant style like this will become your new favorite to pair with many a meal especially during the summer because of its usual low alcohol.
Medium-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of red cherry, raspberry, strawberry, red plum and blossom.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied red blend has medium-plus-intensity, red-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and completing with a medium-plus finish with some hibiscus-and-black-tea notes.
The wine is radiant with pleasing balance between the fruit and acidity.
One of my new summer favorites that is as versatile at the table as Beaujolais.
