Lucas & Lewellen Estate Vineyards, Cabernet Sauvignon 2016, Santa Ynez Valley, California
Tasting Note: An enjoyable, smooth-bodied cabernet sauvignon that presents the grape in an elegant and rich style – especially for the price point.
Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has a medium-plus-intensity, aromatic nose of blackberry preserve, boysenberry, black plum and bramble with hints of raspberry and blossom.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied cabernet sauvignon has medium-intensity, black-fruit suggested on the nose supported my medium acidity and slightly-grippy, ripe, medium-plus tannin.
The wine is velvety in texture and displays varietal typicity along with midpalate complexity.
A cabernet that would pair with many a meal.
