Markus Wine Co., Nuvola Gewürztraminer 2014, Mokelumne Glen Vineyards, Lodi, California
Tasting Note: A middle of the pack gewürztraminer.
This lemon-colored aromatic gewürz has a soft aromatic nose of lychee, green apple and pear.
On the palate, the wine is dry, slightly flabby, and round on the fore palate.
The wine completes with a medium finish and isn’t overly floral like many cool-climate gewürztraminers.
Bottle Note: “People like wine, are shaped by unique places. In Rome ancient architecture stands next to radical new designs by those thinking outside the box. An unexpected steel “nuvola” or cloud within one building inspired my mission to express each vineyard in a fearlessly fresh style, such as this dry, minerally-drive, lychee filled white captured perfectly on the label by Anneka Weinert.” – Markust Niggli, Winemaker. Native yeast. 100% stainless steel. 75 Cases. Bottled January 31, 2015. pH 3.04, TA 6.94 g/l, RS 0.82 g/l.
