Mettler Family Vineyards, Estate Pinotage 2016, Lodi, California
Tasting Note: A plush, velvety, California pinotage that channels the South African grape.
Deep-intensity purple in color this wine has a medium-intensity nose of black plum, raspberry puree, black cherry and blossom.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied pinotage has a creamy texture with medium-intensity, black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose.
The wine is medium in acidity and is supported by soft, ripe, medium-plus tannin.
There is balance between the fruit and tannin structure that is supported by layers of purple fruit.
A great California take on a South African grape.
