Michel Chapoutier, Les Vignes de Bila-Haut Côtes du Roussillon 2017, France
Tasting Note: A Roussillon white blend that is a versatile pairing partner for many a meal, including with the thin-crusted leek and pancetta tart I’m enjoying this evening.
Medium-intensity lemon in color, this wine has a nose of green apple, honeysuckle, pear, melon and green pear.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied white blend is creamy in texture with tart, medium-intensity, green-fruit suggested on the nose supported by medium-acidity.
The wine has bright lemon-citrus notes on the medium finish.
There is balance and integration of fruit and bright acidity.
Bottle Note: Roussillon, a land of legend and history. A place of contrasts too, much as Domaine de Bila-Haut. Elegant citrus aromas and smoky notes. Great freshness. Grape varieties with a strong identity, for a perfect match of food and wines.
