Naked Flock, Hudson Valley Cider
Tasting Note: This lemon-to-light-golden colored apple cider has a nose of tart apple fruit, cinnamon and green pear.
On the palate the cider is medium-plus to high in acidity leaving a chalky tartness on the finish.
This medium-bodied cider delights especially in balance between its just-ripened fruit character and acidity.
Bottle Note: Naturally fermented from fresh pressed Hudson Valley apples, not concentrate. It is unpasteurized with non colorants, malts, spirits or grape alcohold added. Fermented with Belgian Trappist Ale yeasts and a touch of organic maple syrup. The Naked Flock is a local folklore story about a church pastor, a gift from his friend Moby Dick Author Herman Melvill and the ensuing mayhem that caused the pastor to take a stand and protect the Naked Flock. Produced and bottled by Applewood Winery LLC, Warwick, New York.
