Sierra Norte, Porta Regia Colección Privada Monastrell 2015, Jumilla, Spain
Tasting Note: A dark, brooding monastrell (mourvedre) with intense black-fruit flavors that envelop your senses.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of black plum, blackberry puree, raspberry, kirsch and violet.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied monastrell has concentrated, medium-plus-intensity black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and slightly-velvety, medium-plus tannin.
The smooth-bodied wine has midpalate complexity, depth and concentration.
Would pair well with grilled meats, chilly nights or both.
