Quivira, Zinfandel 2015, Katz Vineyard, Dry Creek Valley, California, Wine Casual

Quivira, Zinfandel 2015, Katz Vineyard, Dry Creek Valley, California

Tasting Note: A pleasing, Dry Creek zinfandel with a complex bouquet and mix of red-and-black fruit.

Deep-intensity purple-to-ruby in color this wine has an aromatic nose of raisin, black plum, red cherry, blackberry, kirsch, apricot preserves and clove baking spice.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied wine delivers fruit flavors suggested on the nose with medium-plus flavor intensity, medium acidity and ripe, medium-plus tannin.

The wine is smooth in texture with a tart-red fruit infused, medium-plus finish.

There is mid-palate complexity that pairs well with the bouquet that is infused with curious hints of apricot.
