Rasa Vineyards, Veritas Sequitur Estate Syrah 2016, The Rocks District of Milton Freewater, Oregon
Tasting Note: This syrah is a floral-filled cornucopia of red-fruit and blossoms.
Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has a medium-plus-intensity nose of pomegranate, fig, prune, blueberry, red cherry, boysenberry, rose petal, orange blossom and jolly rancher.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied syrah has medium-plus-intensity, red-and-black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and ripe, medium-plus tannin ultimately completing with a long, rose-petal-filled finish.
The midpalate is deliciously complex and comforting – like sipping gamay in a meadow of wildflowers.
The petite, The Rocks District of Milton Freewater AVA is only 3,700 acres large and is characterized by 200-300 ft deep basalt cobblestone and gravel soils that radiate heat to the vines.
This syrah is made with 100% native yeasts and was aged in 100% new French oak.
