Sauska, Unoaked Furmint 2016, Tokaj, Hungary
Tasting Note: An electric furmint that excites and refreshes the senses.
Medium-intensity lemon in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of white nectarine, quince, dried mango, lemon-citrus, orange zest, honey dew melon, Fiji apple and blossom.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied furmint has medium-plus flavor intensity supported by high acidity and completing with a long, lemon-citrus-infused finish.
Intensity shines from the beginning through to the end of the taste which lovers of bracing acidity like me embrace.
Don’t sleep on furmint like this.
Bottle Note: An unoaked dry white wine made entirely from furmint grapes of Hungary’s Tokaj region. With its fine floral-tropical notes, great balance and beautiful minerality this wine is a perfect example of the modern, terroir-driven winemaking.
