Sheridan Vineyard, Boss Block Cabernet Franc 2012, Yakima Valley, Washington
Tasting Note: A Yakima Valley cabernet franc that embodies the elegance of the grape combined with masterful winemaking.
Purple in color this aromatic wine has a nose of black plum, red currant, raspberry and red cherry with notes of vanilla and clove baking spice.
On the palate the dry, concentrated, medium-plus bodied cabernet franc is creamy in texture with silky, medium-plus tannin.
Medium-minus acidity tames some of the ripe fruit which doesn’t overly assert itself the way it often does in many warm-to-hot weather regions.
This cabernet franc captures a delicate balance between showcasing the best parts of its ripe fruit character while providing a harmonious, tempered, delivery influenced in part by aging and winemaking skill.
Delicious and enjoyable.
