Vale do Bomfim, Red 2022, Douro, Portugal
Tasting Note: Dry Douro reds are on the rise, and this springy blend shows the potential of the region.
Seductive aromas of black fruit open on the nose including black currant, black plum and macerated blackberries with distinct floral notes of strawberry blossom and violet.
The palate brings forward red fruit flavors that percolate with supportive acidity through to the finish.
Pair with parmesan-crusted chicken, roasted salmon and grilled meats.
Bottle Note: Vale do Bonfim is made from grapes grown in vineyards that traditionally supply the House of Dow. The Symington family has produced wine for five generations, making the same journey from Porto to their estates in the Douro Valley for over a century. This wine has an elegant structure with assertive spice aromas and delicious wild berry flavors. It is ready for drinking now but will mature in bottle for a few years. Touriga Nacional 30%, Touriga Franca 30%, Tinta Roriz 30%, Tinta Barroca 10%.
