Stonington Vineyards, Classic Barrel Fermented Chardonnay 2018, Southeastern New England
Tasting Note: A friendly, approachable, lightly-oaked chardonnay from one of Connecticut’s oldest wineries.
Medium-intensity lemon in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of golden apple, nectarine, Asian pear and blossom with hints of vanilla baking spice.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied chardonnay has medium-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and completing with a lemon-citrus-and-vanilla-infused finish.
There is some creaminess along the midpalate with light concentration towards the back palate.
I bought this bottle directly from the winery and it tastes just as good at home as when I enjoyed it under the June sun on Stonington Vineyards’ patio.
