Suncé Winery & Vineyard, Grenache 2012, Ripken Vineyard, Lodi, California
Tasting Note: A Lodi, California take on this Southern Rhône grape varietal that captures tart red fruit.
Deep-intensity ruby in color this wine has an aromatic nose of raspberry, violet and ripe black cherry with light notes of cinnamon baking spice.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied grenache shows tart, red fruit, including under ripe red currant.
Based on the wine’s deep color, you’ll be surprised at the wine’s light-to-medium body.
The, wine is medium in acidity with tartness running throughout the entire length of the taste through to a medium-plus finish.
This wine would be a perfect accompaniment to white-meat dishes and could also be a summer go-to red.
