Tasting Note: A slightly-riper-styled cabernet franc that channels the Loire without any of those green-midpalate elements.

Medium-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of red plum, pencil shavings and crushed violet petal.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied cabernet franc had medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and slightly-grippy, ripe, medium-plus tannin.

A rare, New Zealand example of an emerging Bordeaux grape.

Bottle Note: The Boneline is our watercourse to strange pasts. The river and the permeated landscape. The charcoal poem of ancient bones. The fossil’s hieroglyph. A deep and local telepathy of watercourse and strata. Wine grown on the shoulders of giants. Made with humility and heart. Amphitheatre Cabernet Franc 2018. Dark violet heart, blackcurrant bramble, warm wood spices, suede, licorice, broody red orb.
