Trivento, Malbec Reserve 2015, Mendoza, Argentina
Tasting Note: A Saturday-night malbec you’ll want to take your time to savor.
Deep purple in color this aromatic wine has a nose of red plum, raspberry, stewed fig and black cherry with notes of clove.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied malbec expresses the mix of red and black fruit suggested on the nose along with concentrated blackberry flavors.
The wine has a silky texture with ripe, well-integrated medium-plus tannin that contributes to the body.
The malbec completes with a black cherry and raspberry finish. There is mid-palate complexity and depth of flavor.
Bottle Note: Trivento takes its name from three winds: Polar, Zonda and Sudestada. The God of the Winds, EOLO, capriciously summons the winds that make Mendoza such a distinctive winegrowing region. A bright carmine red whose plum and raspberry jam aromas mingle elegantly with vanilla notes from the 6 months aged in French oak barrels. Well balanced, Trivento Reserve Malbec exhibits sweet tannins and a velvety finish.
