Trivento, Reserve Malbec 2016, Mendoza, Argentina
Tasting Note: A malbec that needs time to open up in your glass.
Pour a glass, wait 45 minutes and see this malbec bloom.
Medium-tending-towards-deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of black plum, raspberry jam, red currant with hints of blueberry.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied malbec delivers fruit flavors suggested on the nose in a tart-fruit style with some floral notes.
The wine displays midpalate concentration and expresses some plushness of mouthfeel.
Bottle Note: Trivento takes its name from three winds: Polar, Zonda and Sudestada. The God of the Winds, EOLO, capriciously summons the winds that make Mendoza such a distinctive winegrowing region. A bright carmine red whose plum and raspberry jam aromas mingle elegantly with vanilla notes from the 6 months aged in French oak. Well balanced, Trivento Reserve Malbec exhibits sweet tannins and a velvety finish.
