Valcan Cellars, Syrah 2015, Rogue Valley, Oregon
Tasting Note: A syrah with a heart of red-fruit encased within a body dominated by black-fruit.
Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has a medium-plus-intensity nose of blackberry, red currant, black plum, rhubarb, cranberry, black plum, dried cherry and blossom.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied syrah has medium-plus-intensity, black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity, and velvety medium-plus tannin ultimately completing with a long finish.
There are punctuated red-fruit notes of complexity along the midpalate that give the wine added depth.
A cozy red.
