Vignoble de Rêveur, Vibrations Sec 2013, Alsace, France
Tasting Note: A riesling for those who like riesling with a lowercase “r” (i.e. a toned-down version).
Lemon in color, this wine has a nose of lime citrus, pear and green apple.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied riesling has flavors of chalk and green fruit that expresses itself without being overwhelming.
Bottle Note: Like a photographer capturing the moment, the vine here finds the liberty to transcribe the true beauty of the farmer’s devotion. “Vibrations” is the expression of this respect for nature, the fruit of an old vineyard planted by my ancestor “the dreamer,” a secretive, misanthrope, wizard-like character. Here, the stony Quaternary sediments reinforce the mineral, fine, young and energetic expression in the wine. No enological correction, natural yeasts, ageing for one year on lees. 100% Riesling.
