Vipava 1984, Zelen Lanthieri 2019, Vipava Valley, Slovenia
Tasting Note: A Slovenian white wine with attractive aromatics and a unique combination of green fruit and spice.
Medium-intensity lemon in color, this wine has a medium-intensity nose of honeysuckle, green pear, clove baking spice, lemon zest and crabapple.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied white wine has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported my medium acidity and completing with a baking-spice-infused, medium-plus finish.
The wine is steely in texture with notes of complexity along the midpalate that refresh and intrigue the palate.
Like me, you may not have the opportunity to experience many wines from Slovenia, so if you do decide to do so, this one is worth a try.
